Mata & Torres on target as Chelsea beat Monterrey to reach the Club World Cup final

Thursday, December 13th, 2012

Chelsea 3 – Monterrey 1 (Club World Cup semi-final, December 13, 2012) (Alternative highlights) Chelsea carved open the Mexicans in the 17th minute when a lovely interchange between Cole and Oscar (awesome backheel) was finished by Juan Mata for his fourth goal in successive matches. The Blues doubled their lead 16 seconds (!) into the second half courtesy of red-hot Fernando Torres’ deflected strike. In the 48th minute it was game over to Chelsea as Torres broke down left and found Mata, who watched Darvin Chavez stick the ball into his own net. The Mexicans snatched a last-gasp consolation through forward Aldo De Nigris.
