Morelia hit Chivas for four in the playoffs; Pachuca edge Monterrey 1-nil

Morelia 4 – Chivas 2 (Mexican Clausura quarter-final first-leg, May 1, 2010) Marvin Cabrera opened the scoring for Morelia in the 24th minute, but Jose Enriquez struck an equaliser in the 40th. Omar Arellano was sent off for Chivas two minutes later, but Omar Bravo put the visitors ahead with a goal on the stroke of half time. Morelia made its extra man count in the second half, starting with Luis Gabriel Rey’s left-foot equaliser from the edge of the box in the 55th minute. Gabriel Pereyra headed Morelia into the lead from a right wing cross in the 63rd and veteran striker Jared Borgetti gave the home side a two-goal advantage for the return leg with a close-range header in the 66th.

Pachuca 1 – Monterrey 0 (Mexican Clausura quarter-final first-leg, May 1, 2010) Damian Alvarez scored the only goal of the game for Pachuca after swapping passes with Edgar Benitez and prodding the ball past Monterrey goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco in the 30th minute.
