Monterrey & America advance to the Clausura final

Monterrey 2 – Tijuana 2 (Primera Division Clausura, May 5, 2012)  Things were looking bad for Monterrey when they conceded to Egidio Arevalo Rios after nine minutes, then had Angel Reyna sent off just after the half-hour. Cesar Delgado levelled on the stroke of half-time and the numbers were evened up with Miguel Almazan’s dismissal five minutes after the restart. Rios scored again from the spot in the 61st minute to level the tie, but Basanta netted four minutes later and the match was effectively over when Tijuana were reduced to nine men as half-time substitute Armando Pulido saw red in the 72nd minute.

America 0 – Pachuca 1 (Primera Division Clausura, May 5, 2012) Defender Nestor Vidrio scored the only goal of the game when he received a pass outside the box and hammered the ball to goalkeeper Moises Munoz’s top left corner.
