Columbus Crew 2 – Chivas USA 1 (MLS, June 14, 2009) After falling behind to Eduardo Lillington’s strike for Chivas minutes before the break, the Crew turned the match on its head in the second period thanks to a Guillermo Barros Schelotto double.

Seattle Sounders 2 – San Jose Earthquakes 1 (MLS, June 13, 2009) Seattle took the lead in the 42nd minute when Quakes defender Jason Hernandez slipped on the ball allowing Freddie Ljungberg to breakaway and score. In the 59th minute Seattle doubled their lead with a close-range shot from Freddy Montero. Darren Huckerby scored for the Quakes, but it proved a mere consolation.

KC Wizards 3 – New England Revolution 1 (MLS, June 13, 2009) The sides slugged it out in the first half hour, Davy Arnoud struck first for the Wizards in the 19th minute before Shalrie Joseph headed in the equaliser in the 28th minute off a set piece. The Wizards then killed the game minutes before the break, Jeff Larentowcz scored a rebound to restore the hosts’ lead while Aaron Hohlbein put the nail in the coffin with a third goal off a Jimmy Conrad assist in the 39th minute.

Toronto FC 2 – New York Red Bulls 1 (MLS, June 13, 2009) Sam Cronin and Danny Dichio scored goals in the first half for Toronto, Albert Celades scored in the 54th minute for New York who recorded their fifth straight loss.
