Goals from the MLS: Dallas held by the Quakes; Red Bulls are battered by the Revs

FC Dallas 2 – San Jose Earthquakes 2 (MLS, June 7, 2009) Dallas took an early lead with a 29th minute goal by David Ferreira. After the halftime San Jose rallied thanks to a Pablo Ricchetti own goal and an 82nd minute strike by Arturo Alvarez. But the home side was able to salvage a point thanks to Kenny Cooper’s strike five minutes later.

New England Revolution 4 – New York Red Bulls 0 (MLS, June 7, 2009) Steve Nicol’s side battered the Red Bulls, the first came in injury-time of the first half with a goal from Jay Heaps. Early in the second-half Steve Ralston doubled the lead after poor defending, Taylor Twellman added the third (his 100th MLS goal) and soon after he claimed the fourth and all-important 101st MLS goal.
