VIDEO: Fabiano at the double as Brazil stun Argentina in Rosario; Colombia, Peru & Paraguay all pick up wins

Argentina 1 – Brazil 3 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) Two quickfire goals midway through the first-half silenced the Rosario. Luisao headed home an Elano free-kick and Luis Fabiano scored from close range to put Dunga’s side in control. Jesus Datolo brought the home side back into the match with a cracking left-footed effort only for Brazil to go up the other end a minute later and finish off the match. Kaka played a delicious through ball for Luis Fabiano who chipped the ball home for his second and Brazil’s third.

Chile 2 – Venezuela 2 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) Chile’s charge for South Africa continues to stutter. Arturo Vidal headed home the opener but goals from Giancarlo Maldonado and Jose Manuel Rey (trademark free-kick) turned the match on its head. Early in the second half substitute Rodrigo Millar found the equaliser.

Colombia 2 – Ecuador 0 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) Late goals from Jackson Martinez and Teofilo Gutierrez boosted the home sides hopes of reaching South Africa.

Peru 1 – Uruguay 0 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) Hernan Rengifio grabbed the only goal ten minutes from time.

Paraguay 1 – Bolivia 0 (2010 World Cup qualifier, September 5, 2009) A penalty from Salvador Cabanas pushed the home side to the brink of qualification.
