Rosenborg 4 – Lyn 1 (Tippeligaen, August 31, 2009) Rade Prica opened his account after 62 minutes to put the hosts 2-0 ahead after Steffen Iversen fired Rosenborg ahead from the penalty spot. A spot-kick converted by Davy Angan midway through the second period brought bottom side Oslo back into contention but Prica struck twice more in the final ten minutes to seal the three points.

GAIS 1 – Djurgaarden 1 (Allsvenskan, August 31, 2009) GAIS went ahead when Richard Spong netted after 16 minutes, but Daniel Sjolund scored an equaliser five minutes later.

Orebro 2 – Gefle 0 (Allsvenskan, August 31, 2009) Orebro secured a 2-0 home win over Gefle thanks to two goals in quick succession during the second half. Magnus Wikstron put Orebro after 60 minutes, and Munoz Adriano doubled the lead three minutes later.

Dynamo Kiev 3 – Metalurg Donetsk 1 (Ukraine Premier Liga, August 31, 2009) Milos Ninkovic put the home side in front, Ciprian Tanase equalised only for Andrei Yarmolenko to score from close range to give Dynamo the lead again.
