Guti grabbed a second 13 minutes from time and Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a third in injury time.
Getafe 0 – Barcelona 2 (La Liga, September 12, 2009) Barca waited patiently until the 65th minute before breaking the deadlock at Getafe, Zlatan Ibrahimovic turning home Abidal’s left wing cross from close range. The Catalans put the game to bed with a second, Zlatan teeing up Leo Messi to head in number two from close range.
Atletico Madrid 1 – Racing Santander 1 (La Liga, September 12, 2009) Both goals arrived minutes before the interval, Jurado firing Atleti into the lead before Oscar Serrano brought racing back level. Santader played most of the second half with 10-men after Crespo saw red.
Sevilla 4 – Zaragoza 1 (La Liga, September 12, 2009) Abdoulay Konko opened the scoring for the hosts in the eighth minute and Luis Fabiano re-established that lead in first-half stoppage time after Javier Arizmendi had stunned the home crowd with an equaliser. Diego Perotti gave Manolo Jimenez’s side breathing space with a third goal in the 57th minute and Luis Fabiano put the icing on the cake three minutes from time.
