Eto’o hits four for Barcelona; Higuain hits four for Real Madrid

Barcelona 6 – Valladolid 0 (La Liga, November 8, 2008) Samuel Eto’o matched Real Madrid’s Higuain by scoring four goals for Barca in another goal-filled sensational attacking performance at the Nou Camp. Eto’o scored on 12, 30, 43 and 44. Eidur Gudjhonsen and Thierry Henry added goals in the second half.

Real Madrid 4 – Malaga 3 (La Liga, November 8, 2008) Eliseu silenced the Bernabeu after five minutes with a stunning solo run down the right hand side, making his way through on goal and eventually turning the ball home after a shot was parried. Three minutes later Higuain equalised after the keeper saved Guti’s shot. But Malaga stunned the hosts for the second time when Nabil Baha steered home a cross. But back came Real, and Higuain drew Madrid level from the penalty spot from a Malaga handball (was it in the box?). A minute before half-time Ramos was sent off and that led to an incredible final twenty minutes. Malaga took the lead for the third time from a penalty by Apono. Only for Higuain to hit back straight away with an equaliser with a fine right footed strike. Then on 78 minutes Higuain grabbed his and Madrid’s fourth, slotting home after his penalty had been saved, as Los Blancos went into the lead for the first time in the game.
