Both Ronaldo & Higuain are at the double as Real Madrid ease past Getafe; Forlan & Aguero boost Atleti’s Euro hopes

Getafe 2 – Real Madrid 4 (La Liga, March 25, 2010) (Longer highlights here.) It took Real Madrid just thirteen minutes to break the deadlock at Getafe. Cristiano Ronaldo curled home a picture perfect free kick for the opener. Seven minutes later Gonzalo Higuain doubled the lead with a simple left-footed finish. Three minutes later and Higuain claimed the third after rounding the keeper. The fourth came from Cristiano Ronaldo and after Higuain had been clinical, the Portuguese forward was once again spectacular, lashing home from a tight angle. Getafe pulled one back a minute after Real Madrid’s fourth, Daniel Parejo looked like he fouled Casillas in the build-up but the goal stood. Pedro Leon further reduced the arrears with ten minutes to go.

Atletico Madrid 2 – Atletic Bilbao 0 (La Liga, March 25, 2010) The South American double act of Diego Forlan and Sergio Kun Aguero swept the home side back to winning ways with second half goals.
