Barca reserves blow away Bilbao 4-1; Sevilla cruise past Tenerife; Zaragoza beat Malaga to ease relegation fears

Barcelona 4 – Athletic Bilbao 1 (La Liga, April 3, 2010) Barcelona struck 25 minutes in against Bilbao, the Catalans built up an attack on the edge of the visitors’ box before Abdial played the killer ball to the back stick where Jeffren slid in to score. Barca doubled their advantage five minutes from the break when Bojan Krkic finished clinically after being put clear by Carlos Puyol. Just before the hour mark Barca score a tremendous team goal as a patient attack involving several players finally sped up with Bojan Krkic smashing home a 20-yard rocket for number three. Things heated up when Yaya Toure motioned a headbutt at Javi Martinez after a coming together in which both players were booked. But soon Barca were back to scoring as Leo Messi go tin on the act converting Pedro’s right wing cross. Markel Laskurain netted a 77th minute consolation for Bilbao.

Sevilla 3 – Tenerife 0 (La Liga, April 3, 2010) Fredi Kanoute and Luis Fabiano were on target in the first half and a fine free kick from Jose Carios completed the scoring in the second half.

Zaragoza 2 – Malaga 0 (La Liga, April 3, 2010) A howitzer from Leonardo Ponzio on the stroke of halftime put Zaragoza into the lead, and a second half volley from striker Humberto Suazo sealed the hosts’ victory.
