Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

Los Angeles Galaxy 2 – New York Red Bulls 1 (Agg. 3-1) (MLS play-off second leg, November 3, 2011) Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, New York levelled the tie in just the fourth minute when Luke Rodgers latched on to a superb through ball from Thierry Henry and slotted home. The Galaxy equalised on the night when a Beckham corner was headed home by Mike McGee, and in the second half – after David Beckham won a penalty – it was left to Landon Donovan to advance LA into the Western Conference final against RSL.

Houston Dynamo 1 – Philadelphia Union 0 (Agg. 3-1) (MLS play-off second leg, November 3, 2011) A header from US legend Brian Ching proved enough for Houston to set up an Eastern Conference final against Sporting Kansas City.
