Serie A goals: Inter return to winning ways at Genoa; Roma held by Udinese; Juve win in Torino

Genoa 0 – Inter Milan 2 (Serie A, March 7, 2009) Zlatan Ibrahimovic needed just two minutes to strike for Inter at Genoa, brilliantly controlling a ball over the top before lifting the ball over a stranded Rubinho in goal. (First half highlights here.) After the break Mario Balotelli added a second from Zlatan’s flick-on although it was hugely debatable whether the whole ball crossed the line. The win got Inter’s title charge back on track but it came at a cost ahead of the visit of Manchester United as both Burdisso and Materazzi were forced off injured.

Roma 1 – Udinese 1 (Serie A, March 7, 2009) After a goalless first half (highlights here) Roma conceded a soft goal when they failed to clear their lines from a free-kick and Felipe eventually profitted with the opener. But the lead was only briefly held, Mirko Vucinic drawing the Giallorossi level cutting in from the left and burying a shot.

Torino 0 – Juventus 1 (Serie A, March 7, 2009) Giorgio Chiellini was the hero for the Old Lady storming in to meet a Nedved free-kick and planting a winning header in the 81st minute.

Frosinone 1 – Livorno 1 (Serie B, March 7, 2009) Tavano gave the visitors the lead on the counter, but Eder replied almost immediately by nodding in an equaliser.

Brescia 0 – Rimini 1 (Serie B, March 7, 2009) Brescia went down to a shock home defeat against struggling Rimini courtesy of Cipriani’s header on the stroke of halftime.

Pisa 2 – Albinoleffe 0 (Serie B, March 7, 2009) Gasparetto was brought down for Greco to convert the penalty, then Antenucci came off the bench to put the game to bed.

Grosseto 1 – Ascoli 0 (Serie B, March 7, 2009)

Parma 0 – Treviso 0 (Serie B, March 7, 2009)
