Resurgent Juve continue to win over poor Roma; Inter record an unconvincing win at Reggina

Juventus 2 – Roma 0 (Serie A, November 1, 2008) Alessandro Del Piero pulled out a trademark free-kick for the opener and Marco Marchionni bagged the second after the break to give Claudio Ranieri’s side the victory.

Reggina 2 – Inter Milan 3 (Serie A, November 1, 2008) After a recent dry spell Inter Milan raced into the lead away at lowly Reggina, Zlatan played a superb pass into Maicon who was advancing into the top right hand side of the box, and the Brazilian slammed home a shot into the top corner. Inter’s bright start continued in the 23rd minute as Patrick Vieira slotted in number two. But Reggina hit back with a training ground corner routine as the ball went back to Cozza who fired home for the hosts. In the second half Reggina found the equaliser, Cesar failed to keep out Brienza’s low shot. With the Nerazzurri pressing for a winner Crespo hit the woodwork with a header, and just as it looked like it was ending in a draw Ivan Cordoba powered home a winner in injury time.

Bari 1 – Pisa 0 (Serie B, November 1, 2008) Barreto’s penalty earned Bari all three points, as they climb up to joint second place.

Mantova 2 – Grosseto 1 (Serie B, November 1, 2008) Billy Costacurta celebrated his first victory as a coach, beating leaders Grosseto. Locatelli got his head to a Passoni free-kick for the opener and Godeas had a goal ruled offside before doubling the advantage with another header. Grosseto made a valiant attempt to pinch a point following Carparelli’s strike, but could not avoid a second away loss on the trot.

Modena 3 – Cittadella 3 (Serie B, November 1, 2008)

Piacenza 1 – Parma 1 (Serie B, November 1, 2008)
