AC Milan 1 – Lazio 1 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) AC Milan took an 18th minute lead against Lazio when Marco Boriello struck home a penalty. The Romans pulled level thanks to a horror mistake from Antonini which allowed Stephan Lichtsteiner to pounce for the second week running.
Juventus 2 – Atalanta 1 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) A textbook free-kick from the evergreen Alex Del Piero, curling a right-footer into the top corner from 25-yards, gave Juve the lead at home to Atalanta. The Old Lady conceded on the stroke of halftime when awful defending kept Nicola Amoruso onside and free on the left-hand side of the box, and when the ball arrived the striker made now mistake from 6-yards. Eight minutes from time Juventus retook the lead when Felipe Melo jumped high at the back stick to loop a header back across goal and into the far corner.
Fiorentina 4 – Udinese 1 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) The brilliant Juan Manuel Vargas added another fantastic goal to his scrapbook as he fired Fiorentina ahead against Udinese, the Peruvian thumping a free-kick into the top corner from over 30-yards out. Udinese hit back before the interval when a breakaway attack was finished by striker Simone Pepe from close-range. The Viola asserted their authority on the match after the break as Alberto Gilardino put the hosts back in front before Mario Santana swept in a third connecting with a left-wing cross. Shaggy-haired forward Steven Jovetic sealed the win leaping like a salmon to connect with a bullet header for sublime fourth.
Livorno 1 – Bari 1 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) Struggling Livorno fell behind in bizarre circumstances at home to Bari when Riccardo Allegretti managed to deflect a shot into the net after the ball ricocheted in off his thigh. Livorno equalised five minutes from time when Francesco Tavano was able to turn in the box and toe-poke a shot into the corner of the net.
Napoli 1 – Catania 0 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) Fabian’s younger brother Paolo Cannavaro scored a rare goal to hand Napoli the lead over Catania, the defender finding himself at the right place at the right time to convert a left wing cross.
Siena 0 – Genoa 0 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) Relegation strugglers Siena had a goal chalked off at the end of the first half with Genoa after Abdelkader Ghezzal crashed a header against the bar, only to convert the rebound after being in an offside position. A frustrating match for Ghezzal continued after the break when the forward cracked a picture-perfect overhead-volley into the net only for the goal to be chalked after the ball was earlier adjudged to have gone out of play.
Sampdoria 1 – Cagliari 1 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) Stefano Guberti had opened the scoring for Samp on 48 minutes and they looked on course for an important win. But substitute Nene equalised on 80 minutes and the game ended in a stalemate, although Nene was then sent off deep into injury-time.
Chievo 0 – Parma 0 (Serie A, March 28, 2010) Chievo failed to make the most of a number of chances as they attempted to make their Serie A status secure for another season.
