Eto’o helps pull Cameroon back from the brink against Zambia; Gabon close to surprise quarter-final spot

Cameroon 3 – Zambia 2 (African Cup of Nations, January 17, 2010) Zambia bossed the first half and went ahead inside 10 minutes through Jacob Mulenga. A terrible mistake from Zambia keeper Kennedy Mweene allowed Geremi to equalise and Samuel Eto’o gave Cameroon the lead in the 72nd minute. Christopher Katongo thought he had earned a point for his side with an 82nd-minute penalty but Mohammed Idrissou had the last word four minutes later.

Gabon 0 – Tunisia 0 (African Cup of Nations, January 17, 2010) Gabon added a 0-0 draw with Tunisia to their opening win against Cameroon as they put themselves within touching distance of the African Nations Cup quarter-finals.
