Brazil win their second consecutive U-20 South American Championships

Colombia 1 – Brazil 2 (South American Under-20 Championships, February 6, 2009) Brazil claimed their second consecutive U-20 South American Championship by beating Colombia with first half goals from Walter and Douglas Costa. Colombia’s only goal came from a Pertuz penalty.

Venezuela 1 – Argentina 1 (South American Under-20 Championships, February 6, 2009) Venezuela took the lead thanks to a goal from Salomon Rondon in the 80th minute but the home crowd was silenced by a last-minute equaliser from Boca Juniors winger Ezequiel Benavidez.

Uruguay 2 – Paraguay 2 (South American Under-20 Championships, February 6, 2009) Jonathan Urretaviscaya put Uruguay in the lead but a brace from Aldo Paniagua turned things around in Paraguay’s favor. Santiago Garcia levelled for Uruguay on in the 73rd minute but the draw gave the championship to Brazil.
