Leverkusen crush Hoffenheim to return to the top of the Bundesliga; Cologne win away at Wolfsburg

Hoffenheim 0 – Bayer Leverkusen 3 (Bundesliga, January 24, 2010) Ex-Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia scored his first Bundesliga goal since joining pre-season from Liverpool and midfielders Toni Kroos and Tranquillo Barnetta added two more in the second half to take unbeaten Leverkusen back to the top of the league.

Wolfsburg 2 – Cologne 3 (Bundesliga, January 24, 2010) Cologne’s Kevin Pezzoni fired the visitors into a surprise 6th minute lead at Wolfsburg, the defender broke free at the near post to guide a header inside the post. The Wolves levelled with midfielder Christian Gentner’s rebound in the 22nd minute. (First half goals here.) The visitors regained the lead against the run of play with a solo run from Sebastian Freis in the 57th minute. Two minutes later Wolfsburg levelled again with Ricardo Costa firing in from close range before Moroccan Chihi grabbed the winner with a shot inside the box. (Second half goals here.)
