Edin Dzeko scores two as Wolfsburg beat Hoffenheim; Hamburg-Hannover stalemate

Wolfsburg 4 – Hoffenheim 0 (Bundesliga, April 4, 2010) Wolfsburg’s brilliant Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko broke the deadlock with Hoffenheim midway through the first half when the forward headed home Genter’s dangerous cross into the mixer. Andrea Barzagli and Zvjezdan Misimovic added further goals in the second half before Dzeko claimed his brace to close out a comfortable home win.

Hamburg 0 – Hannover 0 (Bundesliga, April 4, 2010) Dennis Aogo came closest to breaking the deadlock for Hamburg with his long-ranged effort on 26 minutes but was denied by the woodwork. The hosts caught a break shortly before the hour mark when Jiri Stajner was sent off for a second bookable offense, but the Hannover defense held strong and the relegation battlers took a well-earned point.
