Bundesliga goals: Careless Bayern lose ground on Leverkusen and Hoffenheim

Monchengladbach 2 – Bayern Munich 2 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) Luca Toni put Bayern Munich in front at Monchengladbach after great work by Lahm. In the second half Franck Ribery won a penalty and the Frenchmen dusted himself down to convert the spot-kick. But the hosts came back into the game thanks to a North American double. Canadian Rob Friend headed home the first goal for Gladbach from a corner before American Michael Bradley netted the equaliser three minutes later to send the home side wild.

Hoffenheim 3 – Wolfsburg 2 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) The Bundesliga’s top goal scored Vedad Ibisevic put Hoffenheim one-up at home to Wolfsburg before Grafite equalised for the away team. Eduardo put the “village team” ahead for the second time in the match with a fine left-footed free-kick only for Edin Dzeko to equalise for Wolfsburg. With twenty minutes remaining Hoffenheim took the lead for the third time when Obasi broke the offside trap.

Bayer Leverkusen 2 – Schalke 1 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) Stefan Kiessling fired Leverkusen into the lead at home to Schalke. Patrick Helmes doubled the lead before the break with a lovely shot on the turn. Kevin Kuranyi scored for Schalke with five minutes remaining to set up a nervous last few minutes, but Leverkusen held on to stay top of the league.

Energie Cottbus 1 – Karlsruhe 0 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) Branko Jelic earned Cottbus the three points with a fabulous overhead volley 10 minutes from time.

Hertha Berlin 2 – Hamburg 1 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) Mladen Petric handed Hamburg the lead with a brilliant overhead-volley, but goals from Cicero and Valeri Domovchiyski turned the game on its head.

Borussia Dortmund 4 – Eintracht Frankfurt 0 (Bundesliga, November 15, 2008) (Longer highlights here.) Neven Subotic scored a brace while Felipe Santana and Tamas Hajnal were also among the goals.
