Karlsruhe 0 – Bayern Munich 1 (Bundesliga, October 18, 2008) Miroslav Klose struck four minutes from time to give Bayern their first victory in four league games.
Werder Bremen 3 – Borussia Dortmund 3 (Bundesliga, October 18, 2008) Dortmund made the breakthrough just before the hour mark when Alexander Frei converted from the spot. Bremen equalised on 67 minutes when Baumann headed home from Boenisch’s cross. But parity was short-lived as Dortmund grabbed the lead again through Hummels. Claudio Pizarro pounced for an equaliser two minutes from time. An in injury time, Pizarro then put Bremen ahead, only for Dortmund to snatch a point through Mohamed Zidan just a minute later. Hannover 2 – Hoffenheim 5 (Bundesliga, October 18, 2008) Ibisevic sent Hoffenheim into the break a goal to the good, but Hannover replied three minutes after the interval when Schulz converted a Huszti corner. Hannover then took the lead on 63 minutes through Stajner, only for Hoffenheim to level through Obasi. Salihovic finished off a quick break to put Hoffenheim back in front two minutes later and the visitors scored again through Demba Ba (80) and Ibisevic (83), with Hannover also having Arnold Bruggink sent off. Hoffenheim remain joint top on Germany.
Wolfsburg 4 – Arminia Bielefeld 1 (Bundesliga, October 18, 2008) Zvjezdan Misimovic scored twice in the first half for Wolfsburg, turning home Dzeko’s cross and then finishing from Grafite’s pass. Madlung headed home the third, and though Arminia replied on 60 minutes through Alexander Laas, Grafite grabbed a fourth goal for Wolfsburg four minutes later.
Hertha Berlin 2 – Stuttgart 1 (Bundesliga, October 18, 2008) Nicu’s opener after 29 minutes had been cancelled out by Cacau, but Kacar’s late strike sealed a third win in four games.
