Rennes claw a late draw against Marseille; Reims tie with Toulouse; Nancy & Troyes win 2-1; Evian draw with Ajaccio
Rennes 2 – Marseille 2 (Ligue 1, January 26, 2013) OM took the lead when Valbuena released Andre Ayew who scored from close range. Rennes equalised on the hour mark through Kevin Theophile-Catherine, who headed home Alessandrini’s corner. Marseille thought that they’d won the match when Jordan Ayew scored in the 83rd minute, but Rennes tied the match in the 88th when Romain Alessandrini scored with a close-range header.
Reims 1 – Toulouse 1 (Ligue 1, January 26, 2013) The hosts spurned the chance to take the lead five minutes before the break when Gaetan Courtet saw his penalty saved, and Toulouse capitalised when Etienne Capoue fired them in front early in the second half. Reims rescued a point inside when Grzegorz Krychowiak lashed home a superb effort from distance.
Nancy 2 – Lorient 1 (Ligue 1, January 26, 2013) Sebastien Puygrenier was his side’s match-winner, netting the decisive goal in the 71st minute after Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere had cancelled out Paul Alo’o Efoulou’s first-half opener for the hosts.
Troyes 2 – Brest 1 (Ligue 1, January 26, 2013) Goals either side of half-time from Fabien Camus and Stephane Darbion put the second-bottom hosts in control at the Stade de l’Aube. Eden Ben Basat’s strike just after the hour mark gave the visitors hope, but Troyes held on for only their third league win of the campaign.
Evian 1 – Ajaccio 1 (Ligue 1, January 26, 2013) Dennis Oliech opened the scoring from close range on 36 minutes from Johan Cavalli’s cross. Evian rallied at half time and on 53 minutes Olivier Sorlin whipped an inviting cross in to the Ajaccio penalty box and Daniel Wass beat goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa to the ball to head in to the back of the net.
