Sochaux 3 – Rennes 0 (Ligue 1, April 5, 2009) Ryad Boudebouz fired Sochaux ahead from the spot, and Rennes were 2-down after Mevlut Erdinc fired in a second two minutes later. Vaclav Sverkos completed the win with a third late on.

St. Etienne 0 – Marseille 3 (Ligue 1, April 5, 2009) Mamadou Niang wrong-footed St Etienne keeper Jeremie Janot from the spot on the hour after being brought down in the area by Kevin Mirallas. In the 73rd, Brazilian Brandao headed home a Benoit Cheyrou cross and Niang made it three with another header in a packed goalmouth.
