Lille 3 – Nancy 1 (Ligue 1, May 2, 2010) Lille stay in the driving seat to earn a place in next year’s UEFA Champions League and they took the lead at home to Nancy through Yohan Cabaye’s sweet free-kick, and Gervinho doubled the score two minutes later with a super solo effort. Pierre-Alain Frau made it three after half-time, although Francis Malonga did pull one back for Nancy.
Bordeaux 1 – Toulouse 0 (Ligue 1, May 2, 2010) Michael Ciani scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute to seal the win for Bordeaux.
Boulogne 3 – Nice 3 (Ligue 1, May 2, 2010) Boulogne pulled off a remarkable comeback to draw 3-3 with Nice, the point meaning they avoid relegation for the time being. Nice had gone three up with a brace from Loic Remy and an effort from David Hellebuyck. But a 10-minute salvo from Boulogne saw them pull level thanks to goals from Jeremy Blayac, Olivier Kapo and Alexandre Cuvillier.
Rennes 1 – Sochaux 2 (Ligue 1, May 2, 2010) Sochaux took the lead when Jimmy Briand put through his own net in the 27th minute, and Benjamin Gavanon then doubled the lead 10 minutes from time, shortly after Petter Hansson smashed the ball against the crossbar for Rennes. Sylvain Marveaux got a late goal back for the hosts from the penalty spot, but it was too little too late.
Saint Etienne 1 – Lens 4 (Ligue 1, May 2, 2010) Les Verts led at the interval through Pape Diakhate’s 43rd-minute goal, but Kanga Akale levelled nine minutes after the restart and St Etienne fell apart. Issam Jemaa put Lens in the lead on the hour before Toifilou Maoulida’s late double gave the scoreline a crooked look. The result left St Etienne seven points clear of the drop zone with three matches remaining.
