Ligue 1: Bordeaux march on at the top; Montpellier stun Lyon & Lille continue to impress as they move second

Toulouse 1 – Bordeaux 2 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Laurent Blanc’s side march on with another impressive victory. Paulo Machado gave the home side an early lead which was cancelled out by a trademark Marouane Chamakh header. A deflected Wendel free kick gave Bordeaux the win.

Lyon 1 – Montpellier 2 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Victor Hugo Montano gave Montpellier the lead six minutes after the break. Befetimbi Gomis looked to have rescued a point for OL eight minutes from time, but just three minutes later Joris Marveaux volleyed home the winner.

Nancy 0 – Lille 4 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Lille once again displayed their impressive attacking qualities. Eden Hazard fired them into a first half lead. Gervinho bagged the second from a tight angle, Pierre Alain Frau hit the third from the penalty spot and Gervinho completed the win with his second of the match.

Marseille 0 – Auxerre 2 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Kenya striker Dennis Oliech claimed both goals for Auxerre, the first on 41, the second on 79.

Sochaux 2 – Rennes 0 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Former Inter Milan and Spurs midfielder Stephane Dalmat opened the scoring. Edouard Butin sealed the win with the second.

Le Mans 1 – Monaco 1 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) Former Liverpool flop Anthony Le Tallec fired the home side in front on 36. Park Chu-Young equalised four minutes after half-time.

PSG 4 – Grenoble 0 (Ligue 1, December 23, 2009) The side from the capital ran out comfortable winners thanks to goals from Peguy Luyindula, Sylvain Armand, Melvut Erdinc & Cristophe Jallet.

Lens 1 – St Etienne 0 (Ligue 1, December 22, 2009) A penalty from Eduardo in the 90th minute proved the difference between the two sides.
