Rennes 1 – Lille 2 (Ligue 1, February 21, 2010) Pierre-Alain Frau’s opener was swiftly cancelled out by Jerome Leroy and that was the way it stayed until a minute from time when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tucked home the winner.
Sochaux 0 – Lyon 4 (Ligue 1, February 21, 2010) The star of the show was Brazilian Michel Bastos who scored a 22-minute first half hat-trick. Bastos’ first came from a free-kick, the second was a fierce effort into the roof of the net and the third a clean volley after he was given the freedom of the back post. Lisandro Lopez wrapped up the win with nine minutes remaining.
Marseille 3 – Nancy 1 (Ligue 1, February 21, 2010) OM captain Mamadou Niang was the star of the show netting a hat-trick to claim the three points. Niang opened after 10 minutes with a pinpoint header into the top corner of the near post. Andre Luiz brought Nancy level three minutes later tapping in from three yards but Niang restored Marseille’s lead in the 33rd minute when he swept home a fine second. Niang wrapped up the points with a third midway through the second half.
Nice 1 – Lorient 0 (Ligue 1, February 20, 2010) Nice coach Didier Olle-Nicolle was granted a stay of execution as his team snatched their first victory in three months at home to Lorient. Loic Remy grabbed the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 56th minute and, despite Lorient’s plethora of chances, the visitors could not find the equaliser.
