French Cup: Nice fall to third division Plabennec; Marseille see off Trelissac

Plabennec 2 – Nice 1 (Coupe de France, January 11, 2009) Nice became the first top-flight side to fall to a club from a lower league in this season’s French Cup when they lost at third division strugglers Plabennec. Nice opened the scoring through forward Loic Remy on 13 minutes but the home side, second from bottom in the third division, responded with two goals from striker and captain Jean-Michel Abiven late in the second half.

Trelissac 0 – Marseille 2 (Coupe de France, January 11, 2009) Marseille booked their passage through with a 2-0 at minnows Trelissac with Hatem Ben Arfa and Bruno Cheyrou getting the goals.
