Everton 1 – Liverpool 1 (FA Premier Reserve League, February 17, 2009) (Longer highlights here.) The Toffees broke the deadlock with a freak goal that will haunt Reds’ keeper Martin Hansen for some time. Everton’s Scott Spencer dollied a soft free-kick back to the Liverpool keeper following a foul, but the young custodian had a brain-freeze when retrieving possession, totally misjudging the bounce with the ball trickling through the keeper and over the line. Liverpool hit back immediately, with the unfortunate Hope Akpan heading in at the wrong end when attempting to defend a free-kick.
