Bnei Yehuda 0 – Maccabi Haifa 2 (Ligat ha’Al, April 5, 2010) Shlomi Arbeitman put the runaway Israeli league leaders in front after 16 minutes, and although the Greens went down to 10-men when Lior Rafaelov saw red just after the half hour, and penalty from Yaniv Katan wrapped up the points after the break.

Mjallby 1 – Gefle 3 (Allsvenskan, April 5, 2010) Newly promoted Mjallby lost their first match of the new year, Alexander Gerndt doing the damage with a double for Gefle.

AIK Stockholm 0 – Orebro 1 (Allsvenskan, April 5, 2010) AIK’s awful start to the new season continued with a home loss to Orebro, Kim Olse netting the only goal in the 24th minute.

Trelleborg 0 – Helsingborg 0 (Allsvenskan, April 5, 2010) Early pacesetters Helsingborg dropped their first two points of the season in the goalless draw at Trelleborg.

Rosenborg 3 – Stromsgodset 0 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) After Trond Olsen put Rosenborg ahead on the stroke of halftime, former Tottenham forward Steffen Iversen helped himself to a second half brace as his fine goalscoring form continued at the start of the new season.

Start 5 – Valerenga 3 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) Christian Bolanos opened for Start with a tremendous 30-yard free-kick after 16 minutes. Braces from Christer Kleiven and Ole Martin Arst helped Start to claim the three points, while Mohammed Abdellaoue double kept Valerenga in the game until the final stages.

Sandefjord 1 – Odd Grenland 1 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) A terrific left-footed free-kick from Eirik Lamoy put the hosts in to a 6th minute lead, but an equally brilliant volley from Simen Brenne midway through the second half earned Odd a point.

Molde 3 – Brann Bergen 2 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) Petter Vaagan Moen and Erik Huseklepp put Brann 2-up by the 23rd minute, but Daniel Berg Hestad gave Molde a lifeline scoring a minute before the break. Magne Hoset brought the hosts level in the 57tth, while Mattias Mostrom completed the excellent comeback with a 68th minute winner.

Haugesund 5 – Honefoss 1 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) Tor Arne Andreassen and Trvgve Nygaard struck for the hosts in the first half, before Thomas Sorum, Jarle Steinsland and Nikola Djurdjic won killed the game with three goals in the final eight minutes.

Kongsvinger 1 – Aalesund 2 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) On a cabbage pitch, Tor Hogne Aaroy headed Aalesund into a 22nd minute lead which Adem Guven cancelled out five minutes from the break. Tor Hogne Aaroy claimed the points when he was set free in the second half and the forward produced a clinical finish.

Stabaek 0 – Tromso 1 (Tippeligaen, April 5, 2010) Miika Koppinen steered a 23rd minute free-kick home with a flicked header as Tromso took the points.

SonderjyskE 0 – FC Midtjylland 2 (SAS Ligaen, April 5, 2010) Ken Ilso (28) and Mikkel Thygesen (67) scored either side of halftime as FC Midtjylland won 2-0 at Sonderjyske.

FC Nordsjaelland 0 – FC Copenhagen 3 (SAS Ligaen, April 5, 2010) The capital club thumped Nordsjaelland 3-0 thanks to goals from Zdenek Pospech (26), Oscar Wendt (56) and Cesar Santin (71).

OB Odense 0 – Esbjerg 0 (SAS Ligaen, April 5, 2010) Odense’s title hopes were dented as they were held to a goalless draw at home to fourth-placed Esbjerg.
