VIDEO: Ciani scores at both ends as Bordeaux beat Bayern; Porto & Juve pick up points; Marseille win in Zurich; Grafite off as Wolfsburg draw

Bordeaux 2 – Bayern Munich 1 (Champions League, October 21, 2009) An unfortunate own goal from Michael Ciani, slicing a corner into his own net, handed Bayern a sixth minute lead in Bordeaux. Just before the half hour mark Les Girondins levelled with a brilliant goal, Michael Ciani going from zero to hero converting a corner with a Zola-esque flick into the near post. Munich then had Thomas Muller sent off for two bookings, and as well as being a man down they found themselves a goal down at the break after Marc Planus stuck a boot out to score from a scrappy free-kick.

Porto 2 – APOEL Nicosia 1 (Champions League, October 21, 2009) APOEL were in dreamland 21 minutes into the match in Porto as a delicious cross from the left wing was turning into his own net by Alvaro Pereira. The hosts hit back ten minutes later as Hulk stroked in the equaliser after the Cypriots were caught out at the back, and minutes after the restart Hulk bagged his second from the penalty spot to complete the turnaround.

Juventus 1 – Maccabi Haifa 0 (Champions League, October 21, 2009) Maccabi Haifa managed to get to the break at Juventus without conceding, but to minutes into the second half the Israelis defence was breached as Giorgio Chiellini powered home a header from a set-play.

FC Zurich 0 -  Marseille 1 (Champions League, October 21, 2009) OM picked up their first points of the competition thanks to Gabriel Heinze’s right-footed volley in the second half.

Wolfsburg 0 – Besiktas 0 (Champions League, October 21, 2009) Wolfsburg dominated the game, missing a series of chances and hitting the woodwork, until striker Grafite was sent off for hitting Ibrahim Kas late in the second half as the Turks held on for a point.
