VIDEO: Chelsea lose Cech and 2-1 at Inter Milan; Gonzalez nets a cracker as Sevilla pick up draw in Moscow

Inter Milan 2 – Chelsea 1 (Champions League, February 24, 2010) (Longer highlights here.) The San Siro erupted after just two minutes as Inter built an attack down the inside left channel involving Eto’o and Sneijder that was drilled into the near post by top scorer Diego Milito. Michael Ballack then almost had his eye taken out by a high kick from Thiago Motta. Having played poorly for the much of the first half (highlights here), Chelsea’s star performer Branislav Ivanovic created the Blues’ crucial equaliser five minute after the restart, the Serbian bombing down the right and laying the ball off to Salomon Kalou who curled a 20-yard beauty into the far corner. Defying their reputation as big game bottlers Inter retook the lead four minutes later, Sneijder whipped in a cross from the left and Esteban Cambiasso was perfectly placed to pick up the scraps and thunder home the hosts second. Soon after Chelsea suffered a serious scare as keeper Petr Cech was forced off the pitch on a stretcher.

In the 66th minute CSKA equalised with a goal out of nothing as Mark Gonzalez controlled the ball 30-yards out and whacked home a screamer that left keeper Palop motionless.
