Benfica 4 – Hertha Berlin 0 (Agg. 5-1) (Europa League, February 23, 2010) (Longer highlights here.) After their 1-all draw in Berlin, Benfica sent early warning shot when Saviola and Angel di Maria went close early on. And it wasn’t long before the Eagles struck, as in the 24th minute Pablo Aimar finished off a lovely back-to-front move from the Portuguese hosts. Three minutes into the second half Benfica scored a second to leave Hertha needing a miracle, seasoned striker Oscar Cardozo planted home a trademark header. From there Benfica motored, Javi Garcia chalked up the third on the hour before Cardoza claimed his brace to leave Hertha humiliated.
