Wolves chew up the Saints as they edge closer to the Premier League

Wolves 3 – Southampton 0 (Championship, April 10, 2009) Sam Vokes headed the hosts into the lead from a corner after just 39 seconds. Jody Craddock then made it two in the sixth minute with another header from a set-play, and it got worse for the Saints in the 19th minute when David Edwards was upended in the box by a poor Marek Saganowski challenge and David Jones stepped up to blast home the resulting penalty. Wolves moved five points clear at the top of the table.
