Manchester City 3 – West Ham 1 (Premier League, September 28, 2009) It took City just five minutes to open the scoring, Carlos Tevez tapping in from a couple of yards out after Matrin Petrov had powered down the left. The Hammers hit back just after twenty minutes, Carlton Cole flicked home the equaliser from close range from a Kovac shot. Less than ten minutes later Martin Petrov restored City’s lead with a free-kick that took a slight deflection off the wall and wrong-footed Green. (First half highlights here.) On the hour mark West Ham’s slack defence conceded a third, Bellamy swung a free-kick beyond the far post and Carlos Tevez placed a header back across Green and into the corner.
