VIDEO: Stoke held by Manchester City as Gareth Barry strikes late on

Stoke 1 – Manchester City 1 (Premier League, February 16, 2010) Stoke’s physical play dominated Manchester City in a goalless first half (highlights here) at the Britannia. The Potters had Faye send off ten minutes into the second half, but despite being a man down the hosts took the lead when City’s Adam Johnson completely mis-kicked his attempted hoof away and Glenn Whelan capitalised with a long-distance shot that squirmed under Given (who should have done better.) Four minutes from time City equalised, Adebayor got a flick-on in the box and Gareth Barry scored at the second attempt after his first effort hit the post. Stoke were denied an injury time winner when Ryan Shawcross had a header ruled out for a nonsense foul on Shay Given.
