Cardiff 2* – Leicester 3 (Agg. 3-3) (Championship play-off semi-final second leg, May 12, 2010) (Pens. 4-3) Michael Chopra fired Cardiff into a two-goal lead overall and the home side looked in control until quick fire goals before half time from Matt Fryatt and a Mark Hudson own goal turned the semi-final on its head. Early in the second half Andy King put Leicester into the lead for the first time over the two games with a back post header but Peter Whittingham’s penalty evened things up again. Cardiff keeper David Marshall was the hero in the shoot-out with two massive saves to send the Welsh side to Wembley to face Blackpool for a place in the Promised Land.
