VIDEO: Penniless Portsmouth beat Brum to reach FA Cup semis; Fulham-Spurs head for replay

Portsmouth 2 – Birmingham 0 (FA Cup quarter-finals, March 6, 2010) (ITV highlights here.) After a truly forgettable first half at Fratton Park, Pompey came out after the break with a spring in their step and they managed to get their noses in front when striker Frederic Piquionne (offside) stabbed the ball over the line from two yards out. Penniless Pompey then scored a terrific second to seemingly book their semi-final place at Wembley, O’Hara threaded a perfect pass through to Piquionne, the Frenchman turned Ridgewell inside-out and he coolly finished past a helpless Hart. Birmingham were left disgruntled when a Ridgewell header that clearly crossed the line wasn’t given by the match officials.

David James and Jamie O’Hara’s post match interview can be seen here.

Fulham 0 – Tottenham 0 (FA Cup quarter-finals, March 6, 2010) A full blooded cup tie saw very few clear cut chances and these two sides will play out a replay on March 24. The Cottagers had the better opportunities but saw Heurelho Gomes produce some good saves.
