VIDEO: Manchester United held at in-form Birmingham; Rosicky saves Arsenal a point after Everton dominate at the Emirates

Birmingham 1 – Manchester United 1 (Premier League, January 10, 2010) (Longer highlights here.) United fell behind at in-form Birmingham conceding a horrible goal from a 38th minute corner, Bowyer managed to keep the ball in the mixer after an initial partial clearance, Evans scuffed a dreadful effort about one yard upfield, and Cameron Jerome poked the ball into an empty net. (First half highlights here.) Despite being second best United levelled on the hour mark when Evra fizzed a ball into the danger area and Scott Dann turned the ball into his net under pressure from Rooney. Darren Fletcher saw red six minutes from time fore a second bookable offence.

Arsenal 2 – Everton 2 (Premier League, January 10, 2010) (Longer highlights here, extended highlights here.) In the only surviving 3pm kick-off in snowy England, Everton sprung a surprise early doors at Arsenal as Leon Osman headed home Landon Donovan’s first ever corner for the Toffees after 12 minutes. The Gunners continued to be off the pace after the goal, but after putting together an attack around the Everton box in the 26th minute, the returning Denilson saw his shot deflect off Osman and into the net. (First half highlights here.) A blizzard took over the Emirates after the break but it failed to break Everton’s stronghold on the match, and just over ten minutes from time the Toffees scored a brilliant and deserved second when Steven Pienaar broke the home offside on the halfway-line, raced 30-yards, and cheekily lifted the ball over Almunia. But Arsenal refused to be beaten, and in the 91st minute a typical attack saw Diaby provide the perfect pass for Tomas Rosicky, whose shot looped off defender Neill and over Howard.
