Arsenal 7 – Blackburn 1 (Premier League, February 4th, 2012) (Longer highlights & MOTD highlights.) It took just 2 minutes for Arsenal to take the lead, Robin Van Persie sneaking in at the far post to poach home. Blackburn equalised with their first real attack, Morten Gamst Pedersen striking a perfect free-kick over the Arsenal wall. Arsenal regained the lead with a freakish carbon copy of the first, RVP again latching onto a squared assist from Walcott. Arsenal got the third that their dominance deserved, RVP playing a perfect reverse through ball into the path of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, leaving the Ox to calmly round the keeper and score his first ever Premier League goal. Gael Givet then received a straight red card for a dangerous tackle that left Blackburn a man down. Mikel Arteta made it 4 with a low shot soon after the break, before Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 5, Walcott getting his hat-trick of assists with the pass. Robin Van Persie completed his hat-trick with his side’s sixth, Coquellin setting him up with a nice bit of skill on the wing. Thierry Henry rounded things off with the seventh goal to add to his collection.
