Bolton 1 – Tottenham 4 (Premier League, May 2, 2012) (Alternative highlights.) Tottenham broke the deadlock in devastating fashion in the 35th minute when Luka Modric lashed home a 30-yard pearler that beat Bodgan all-ends-up. Bolton equalised in the 51st minute when a lovely passing attack, including a back heell from David Ngog, was finished off by the onrushing Nigel Reo-Coker. Spurs retook the lead on the hour when a sweeping break from saw Bale cross for Rafael van der Vaart, who beat Bogdan with a first-time finish. It was two in as many minutes for Spurs as the Trotters fell to pieces, as Modric played in Lennon, who slid the ball across goal for Emmanuel Adebayor to tap in. Spurs killed the contest in the 69th minute as Bale had time to free Emmanuel Adebayor through the middle and the striker bagged his brace.

The Reebok Stadium was a hugely emotional environment before kick-off as Fabrice Muamba returned into the public eye walking onto the Bolton pitch to thank the fans for their support.
