Copa del Rey: Getafe & Mallorca reach the last 16

Ivan Alonso equalised in the 37th minute when he smashed in the rebound after Codina had saved his header from a Shunsuke Nakamura cross but Espanyol were unable to score again.

Mallorca 1 – Real Valladolid 0 (Copa del Rey, November 11, 2009) (Agg. 2-2) The tie swung in the hosts favour in the 40th minute when Alhassane Keita found the net to advance Mallorca on the away goals rule.

Athletic Bilbao 2 – Rayo Vallecano 2 (Copa del Rey, November 11, 2009) (Agg. 2-4) Fernando Llorente (41) put the Basque outfit ahead before Angel Martinez (73) levelled on the night with a stunning volley. Javi Martinez (74) restoredBilbao’s lead immediately only for Edu Albacar to equalise again three minutes later with a fine free-kick.

Palmeiras 2 – Sport Recife 2 (Campeonato Brasileiro, November 11, 2009) Palmeiras’ faltering title challenge suffered another blow against Sport, with the visitors racing in the a 2-goal lead through Acre and Wilson by the 16th minute.
