The Daily Mail today publish the story that Everton have banned BBC TV cameras from their FA Cup semi-final press day on Tuesday “in protest at how Marouane Fellaini’s physical approach was portrayed on Match of the Day 2 when an apparent use of the elbow was highlighted during in the 3-3 draw at Aston Villa. Everton fear the BBC may have coloured the referee’s judgment before Sunday’s clash with Manchester United.”
Far be it from us to suggest that the tabloid is looking to whip up a storm in the teacup. But the evidence which we can bring you on what was said on MOTD2 sees the talking heads praise the Belgian for his stellar performance earlier this month against Wigan.
See Danny Murphy, Mark Lawrenson and Adrian Chiles wax lyrical over Marouane Fellaini here.

I didnt see anything wrong with what they said in that clip, but i do know people think he uses elbows alot!
I love the guy, hes got better with every game, plus if your 6ft plus and can jump above everyone, where do you put your elbows???? Its all well and good when your similar height to everyone else because then there all at the same level, but if your two foot above your opponent your elbows are going to have to go somewere.
Bring on the mancs in the semis there rubbish anyway, if it influences the ref then maybe cahill will get away with a bit more as he keeps his eye on fella

this not the clip from last sunday!
It was the Subs from 5live, Mark Bright, Steve Claridge pretend punditry (anything for a buck from the beeb!) showing clips from a number of games showing fellaini battling with oponents! NOT ONCE did they mention the ammount of times Fellaini had be held or fouled because he is hard to play against. a complete hatchet job on a good young pro.

You’ve used the wrong clip! As George says above it was Bright and Claridge.
The clip MOTD2 used was a montage of elbowing incidents from earlier in the season. Yes he should try and find another way of jumping but it had nothing to do with the game that was played that afternoon.

Another example of British pundits highlighting foreign players as cheats. How about they take a look at the British cheats for a change such as Gerrard, Lampard, Terry, Shearer, Rooney etc. When A British player gets stuck in its called grit and determination, when its a foreign player its cheating, When a British player dives, he stumbled. When its a foreign player, he cheated.

I completely agree with Boskovic. So many times I have been given yellow cards for diving, when clearly there was contact!

This is now reflected in the post…
