Celtic continue to win in the SPL

St. Mirren 1 - Celtic 3 (SPL, November 22, 2008) After holding out for just over an hour, Celtic stormed into the lead when Giorgos Samaras turned in a teasing cross from Hinkel. Celtic soon seized the initiative to pull further ahead, Samaras lifting a ball towards Shunsuke Nakamura with the Japanese star controlling expertly and scoring. The second half demolition was completed by Cillian Sheridan who tapped in third ten minutes from time, although the hosts did get a late consolation through Jim Hamilton.

Hartley sinks Hamilton with late strike for Celtic

Hamilton 1 - Celtic 2 (SPL, November 16, 2008) Hamilton took the lead with a header from Richard Offiong on 16 minutes. Shunsuke Nakamura levelled from a penalty, Martin Canning sent off as a result, and Celtic’s advantage told as Paul Hartley smashed in a brilliant winner after a super one-two late on.

Rangers keep in touch with Celtic after putting four past Killie

Kilmarnock 0 - Rangers 4 (SPL, November 9, 2008) Killie keeper Allan Combe saved a Kris Boyd penalty in the first half. After the break David Weir met a deep corner with a firm header to put Rangers ahead. Boyd smashed in a low strike from a great Kenny Miller pass for number two. Late on, Miller nodded in a Steven Davis cross at the back post and Steven Whittaker added the fourth with a volley.

Celtic beat Motherwell to go back to the SPL summit

Celtic 2 - Motherwell 0 (SPL, November 8, 2008) Veteran Paul Hartley fired home a half-volley on the stroke of halftime to put Celtic ahead against Motherwell. Scott McDonald found the bottom corner in the 72nd minute to double the advantage.

Thomson rescues Rangers’ unbeaten home record

Rangers 3 - Dundee United 3 (SPL, November 4, 2008) Rangers moved in front after 11 minutes when Davis sent a low shot past Zaluska. Craig Levein’s side did not have long to wait for the equaliser as Francisco Sandaza produced a wonderful finish, and United went in front after 27 minutes when Paul Dixon’s cut-back was eventually turned in by Sandaza. Rangers were before the break when Nacho Novo set up Sasa Papac for his first goal for the Gers. United regained the lead when a long throw from Dixon saw the ball drop to Robertson who made no mistake on 59 minutes. But Kevin Thomson salvaged a point for Rangers in dramatic style when he rifled home from 22 yards deep into injury time.

Celtic go back to the top of the SPL

Hearts 0 - Celtic 2 (SPL, November 2, 2008) Shaun Maloney gave Celtic the lead in the seventh minute when he volleyed the ball back over goalkeeper Janos Balogh after he had punched away a free-kick from Andreas Hinkel. Gary Caldwell then made it two from close range, although Hearts’ players claimed he used hisĀ hand.
