Zenit St Petersburg 2 – Iraq 1 (Friendly, January 20, 2012) The Lions of Mesopotamia fell behind in the ninth minute as a long ball reached Zenit forward Aleksandr Bukharov who controlled, beat his marker, and drilled a shot into the near post. The Iraqis levelled on the hour through striker Emad Mohammed after the Russian lost the ball in defence, but 15 minutes from time Aleksandr Kerzhakov lobbed in the winner for Zenit.

Zenit 2 – Bunyodkor 1 (Dubai Cup, January 18, 2012) Goals from Szabolcs Huszti and Danko Lazovic eased Zenit to the win. Danny should have made it 3-0 but he was guilty of a rubbish miss. Bunyodkor pulled one back late on.

Zenit St Petersburg 2 – Lokomotiv Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, November 27, 2011) All the goals came in the first half. Danny and Sergei Semak for Zenit. Denis Glushakov halved the deficit.

Anzhi Makhachkala 2 – CSKA Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, November 27, 2011) An 89th minute penalty from Samuel Eto’o earned Anzhi all three points.

Rostov 1 – Amkar Perm 1 (Russian Premier League, November 27, 2011) Razvan Cocis had headed Rostov into the lead just after the half hour, Aleksandr Kolomeytsev equalised on 57 with a cracking shot into the top corner.

Kuban 1 – Spartak Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, November 26, 2011) Lacina Traore put Kuban ahead in the 37th, Evgeni Makeev snatched Spartak a point four minutes from time.

Spartak Nalchik 3 – Terek Grozny 0 (Russian Premier League, November 26, 2011) Jovan Golich swept Nalchick ahead on the stroke of halftime, while a second half double from Magomed Mitrishev killed off Terek.

Samara 1 – Volga 0 (Russian Premier League, November 26, 2011) Sergey Kornilenko’s early goal settled the contest.

Rubin Kazan 2 – Dynamo Moscow 0 (Russian Premier League, November 26, 2011) First half goals from Roman Eremenko and Gokdeniz Karadeniz sealed the victory.

Spartak Moscow 2 – Lokomotiv Moscow 0 (Russian Premier League, November 20, 2011) A first brace from Emmanuel Emenike earned Spartak bragging rights in the Moscow derby. (Video below the fold)

Rostov 3 – Tomsk 1 (Russian Premier League, November 20, 2011) Nine man Tomsk lost to a Roman Adamov doubled and a third from Mihal Papadopulos.

Volga Nyzhnyi 1 – Amkar Perm 2 (Russian Premier League, November 19, 2011) Aleksandr Belozerov put Volga ahead in the 7th minute, but two goals in two minutes from Vitali Grishin and Nikita Burmistrov on the hour turned the match for Amkar.

Zenit St. Petersburg 0 – Anji Makhachkala 0 (Russian Premier League, November 18, 2011) The match turned out to be a disappointing drab squib in terms of goals, but it bizarrely entertaining in the 81st minute as Anji’s Mbark Boussoufa was sent off for kicking the ball at the referee.

CSKA Moscow 1 – Rubin Kazan 2 (Russian Premier League, November 18, 2011) Alan Kasaev and Aleksandr Ryazantsev scored goals in either half to earn Rubin the shock win at CSKA, Seydou Doumbia scoring a penalty for the hosts.
