Kuranyi’s overhead cracker the highlight during Dynamo 2 – Lokomotiv 2; Champs Zenit sunk by Spartak

Dynamo Moscow 2 – Lokomotiv Moscow 2 (Russian Premier League, May 6, 2012) Lokomotiv took the lead through Maxim Belyaev’s excellent finish from a 44th minute corner, but early in the second half Dynamo equalised courtesy of a wonderful overhead-kick from Kevin Kuranyi. Lokomotiv retook the lead 10 minutes from time through Denis Glushakov, but as injury time ticked over Zvjezdan Misimovic grabbed alate leveller for the hosts.

Zenit St. Petersburg 2 – Spartak Moscow 3 (Russian Premier League, May 6, 2012) Zenit were awarded the Russian Premier League trophy following their 3-2 defeat by Spartak.

Arshavin’s hot streak continues as Zenit hold Kazan 2-2; Spartak in Dynamo stalemate; CSKA boost CL hopes

Rubin Kazan 2 – Zenit St. Petersburg 2 (Russian Premier League, May 2, 2012) Andrey Arshavin’s third goal in four games earned Russian champions Zenit a 2-2 draw at Rubin.

Spartak Moscow 1 – Dynamo Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, May 2, 2012) Dynamo striker Kevin Kuranyi opened the scoring after just three minutes, but Spartak equalised two minutes into the second half through Ari, who slotted home from 10 yards after defenders gave him time to pick his spot.

Kuban Krasnodar 2 – Anji Makhachkala 2 (Russian Premier League, May 2, 2012) Goals from Mbark Boussoufa and Samuel Eto’o had Anzhi two up after 22 minutes, but goals either side of half-time from David Tsoraev and Igor Armas earned the hosts a point.

Lokomotiv Moscow 0 – CSKA Moscow 3 (Russian Premier League, May 2, 2012) The hosts suffered an early setback when they had Manuel da Costa sent off after seven minutes, and Seydou Doumbia opened the scoring from the spot on nine minutes. Zoran Tosic wrapped up the win with a late brace to take CSKA two points clear of city rivals Dinamo in the race for second place behind champions Zenit St Petersburg with two games to go.

Eto’o gets two as Anji enter the Europa League frame; Tosic brace steers CSKA past Spartak

Anji Makhachkala 3 – Lokomotiv Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, April 28, 2012) A Taras Burlak own goal put Anji in front, but Lokomotiv pulled level when Denis Glushakov ran through and scored. Samuel Eto’o proved Anji’s match-winner with a fine finish from the right hand side in the 63rd, before Eto’o sealed the home win with a solo stunner in injury time.

CSKA Moscow 2 – Spartak Moscow 1 (Russian Premier League, April 28, 2012) Zoran Tosic claimed the match ball for CSKA with a brace.

The visitors increased their lead through Shamil Lakhiyalov just before the hour, while a Nikolas Pareha own goal in the 69th swelled Anji’s advantage further.

Arshavin & Shirokov save Zenit’s bacon at Kuban

Kuban Krasnodar 2 – Zenit St. Petersburg 2 (Russian Premier League, April 21, 2012) Roman Shirokov rifled into the roof of the net from close range to steal a point for the visitors on 80 minutes. Just beforehand, Andrei Arshavin had pulled Zenit back into the game with a neat finish into the corner of Alexander Belenov’s goal. It was an unlikely comeback from a double strike by Kuban’s striker Lacina Traore.

Zenit St Petersburg 2 – CSKA Moscow 0 (Russian Premier League, April 14, 2012) Vladimir Bystrov headed Zenit ahead just after the hour and was promptly injured as Andrey Arshavin stepped on him in one of the worst celebrations ever! Andrey Arshavin then sealed the win on 89 with a fine finish.
