Karabukspor win a 6-pointer against Samsunspor; Ankaragucu stay rooted to the bottom of Turkey

Karabukspor 2 – Samsunspor 1 (Super Lig, February 6, 2012) A huge game between third bottom Karabukspor and second bottom Samsunspor proved to be one of the most thrilling matches that few will likely see this season. Ilhan Parlak scored after 15 and 55 minutes for the hosts and they held on for a 2-1 win over Samsunspor despite having Luton Shelton sent off on the stroke of halftime for a brutal tackle in the middle of the pitch. Murat Yildirim scored three minutes from time for Samsunspor with a deflected effort, but the visitors ended up fuming after Kemal Tokak was dismissed for a challenge in which he won the ball.

Ankaragucu 0 – Manisaspor 1 (Super Lig, February 6, 2012) Basement boys Ankaragucu lost again courtesy of Nemanja Vucicevic’s strike on the hour.

Suarez & Kljestan bag golazos as Anderlecht gun down Genk 4-2

Anderlecht 4 – Genk 2 (Jupiler League, February 5, 2012) Genk took the lead after eight minutes through Christian Benteke, but the home side were level seconds later through an incredible 35-yarder from Matias Suarez. Sacha Kljestan (fine free-kick) and Dieudonne Mbokani fired Anderlecht 3-1 ahead and, after substitute Elyaniv Barda had pulled a goal back, Mbokani’s second of the game sealed the win ten minutes from time.

Fenerbahce 2 – Besiktas 0 (Super Lig, February 5, 2012) Joseph Yobo converted a corner to put Fener ahead in the first half, while new signing Moussa Sow scored in the final ten minutes to seal the win.

Mersin 1 – Sivasspor 5 (Super Lig, February 5, 2012) Kivanc Karakas and Erman Kilic both netted a brace as Sivas ran riot.

Kayserispor 2 – Genclerbirligi 3 (Super Lig, February 5, 2012) James Troisi scored a brilliant solo goal to level for the hosts in the first half, but the real story of the match was Ermin Zec’s 90th minute winner for Genclerbirligi.

Galatasaray go 6 points clear; Trabzonspor trip up at Antalyaspor

Gaziantepspor 1 – Galatasaray 2 (Super Lig, February 4, 2012) Struggling Gaziantepspor claimed an unlikely lead when Ivelin Popov netted after 50 minutes. Gala took just three minutes to level, though, through Necati Ates, before Sweden striker Johan Elmander scored the winner after 66 minutes.

Antalyaspor 2 – Trabzonspor 1 (Super Lig, February 4, 2012) Fourth-placed Trabzonspor tripped up at Antalyaspor, losing 2-1. Brazilian forward Tita won the game for the hosts with a 76th minute penalty after Mehmet Boyraz’s third-minute opener had been cancelled out by Mustafa Yumlu after 19 minutes.

Gekas’ hat-trick sees Samsunspor sink Fener; Mersin make waves at Besiktas

Samsunspor 3 – Fenerbahce 1 (Super Lig, February 2, 2012) Miroslav Stoch’s incredible recent form for Fener continued as he netted from an acute angle in only the sixth minute, but that was as good as it got for the visitors. Theofanis Gekas proved the headline grabber as he record a hat-trick to turn the match for Samsunspor.

Besiktas 0 – Mersin 1 (Super Lig, February 2, 2012) Mersin claimed the surprise win after an end-to-end attack in the first half was finished by Erdal Kilicaslan.

Sivasspor 1 – Kayserispor 1 (Super Lig, February 2, 2012) Michael Eneramo opened for Sivas just after the break, but James Troisi levelled in the 66th.

Manisaspor 2 – Eskisehirspor 3 (Super Lig, February 2, 2012) Nemanja Vucicevic gave Manisaspor the lead inside two minutes following an outrageous goalie FAIL, but Veysel Sari had Eskisehirspor level in the 10th minute scoring from close range. Ahmet Ilhan Ozek restored the hosts’ advantage on the half hour, but a second half double from defender Diego Angelo de Oliveira handed the visitors the three points.
