Nova Iguaçu drew 1-1 at home against Vasco da Gama in the Campeonato Carioca on Sunday night, and the hosts had the pull themselves back into the game after defender Peter scored a stupid own goal.
The Iguaçu centre-back was under a little bit of pressure as he needed to deal with a right wing Vasco cross with an opposing striker hovering in close proximity in the box, however the 29-year-old got himself in a complete pickle and ended up shooting himself and his team in the foot.
Rather than smack the danger clear, Peter sliced a powerful shot into his own top corner.
