The war for television ratings is well and truly on.
Last week BT Sport launched its two multi-million pounds sports channels as the telecommunications giant started their assault on Sky Sports.
For a cool £738 million, BT Sport’s have acquired the broadcasting rights to 38 live Premier League matches over three seasons, and in doing so has seen it emerge as a strong competitor to BSkyB. Moreover, the channels will show FA Cup games, Europa League matches, and live football from the top leagues in Germany, Italy, France and Scotland.
They’ll also be football chat shows, and last night BT Sport interviewed QPR boss Harry Redknapp with a twist.
Injecting a much needed degree of comedy onto their show, ‘Arry talked to Des Kelly through his car window in the middle of the studio.
