Schalke 1 – Eintracht Frankfurt 0 (Bundesliga, September 20, 2008) Frankfurt had Chris sent off on 34 minutes for a foul on Heiko Westermann and seven minutes later Jefferson Farfan’s shot found the net via Patrick Ochs’ deflection.

Wolfsburg 3 – Hamburg 0 (Bundesliga, September 21, 2008) The home side set about their opponents from the off and after Ashkan Dejagah, Alexander Madlung and Grafite had made it three before half an hour was on the clock, there was no way back for Hamburg.
