Ok. We admit that this is starting to boarder on the obsessive, but we cannot help it if the YouTube community has a major puppy-crush on Tottenham’s on-loan Moroccan star Adel Taarabt, who is currently playing week in week out at QPR.
For the third game in a row the 19-year-old walking showboat who has been afforded the same type of online adulation generally reserved for the biggest names on the footballing planet, such as Ronaldo or Leo Messi. Users seem transfixed into documenting all Taarabt’s important contributions, with the Moroccan this weekend strutting his stuff against Bristol City.
Why people are so obsessed remains a mystery, but having seen Taarabat’s last three performances it is clear that in the Championship the free-spirited playmaker looks like a world-beater.
Taarabt had a field-day against The Robins. Often found lurking on the left-hand side of the pitch, the visitors failed time after time to close down Rangers’ number 19, and they were repeatedly punished by a combination of Taarabt’s fancy footwork, tricky skills and general good fortune which comes with a player oozing confidence.
It was not all positive however, with Taarabt picking up a booking in the first half for a horrible dive in which he tried to con the referee into awarding the hosts a spot-kick.
But in the end Taarabt deservedly won the man of the match award, the Moroccan marking the occasion with his first goal at Loftus Road and mopping up the plaudits with the match-winner.
