West Ham chairman celebrates signing of Pedro Obiang by posting picture of Juve’s Angelo Ogbonna [Tweet]

West Ham chairman David Gold has been left completely embarrassed after posting a picture of the wrong player on twitter during his welcome message to new signing Pedro Obiang.

The Hammers owner who was very excited to announce the signing of the 23 year old midfielder from Sampdoria, mistakenly tweeted a picture of Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna instead of his new £5 Million signing.

Pedro Obiang completed his move to Upton Park from Sampdoria today after seven years with the Italian club.

The Spanish under 21 international was an integral player for the club and made 34 league appearances last season, helping them secure a spot in the Europa League. The Genoa based club have released a statement thanking the player for his contribution to the team during his time in Italy.

This latest mishap by David Gold will do nothing to help West Ham’s new midfielder feel settled, and the club will hope that the player will see the funny side to this.
